Free Remit Protect
Automatic coverage on your last remitted amount
Remit money anywhere around the world* from any authorized remittance channel in the UAE using your FGB LIC (I) Visa Rewards Credit Card and instantly get covered for up to AED 25,000 in unforeseen events including total permanent disability due to accident or Accidental death.
Coverage : 12 multiples of the last remitted amount
Maximum cover : Up to AED 25,000/-
Minimum cover : AED 5,000/-
Cover period : 45 days, starting from the date that money was last remitted
Remittance confirmation slip and copy of your FGB LIC (I) Visa Rewards Credit Card statement will be required to process any claims.
- What is "Remit Protect"?
Remit protect is an insurance cover through which an eligible FGB LIC (I) Rewards Credit Cardholder’s beneficiary continues to receive a monthly remittance for a period of 12 months in the unfortunate event of an accident causing death or total disability of the Credit Cardholder. This cover aims to support the beneficiary for a period of 12 months following the incident.
- Who is eligible for this cover?
A valid FGB LIC (I) Rewards Visa Credit Cardholder who has remitted money is eligible. The Credit Cardholder will be covered for a period of 45 days, starting from the date of remittance.
- How much cash benefit does this cover provide?
The FGB LIC (I) Rewards Credit Cardholder will be covered for 12 times the last remitted amount, subject to a minimum of AED 5,000 and a maximum of AED 25,000. For e.g. If the remittance is AED 2,000, the cover will be for AED 2,000 x 12 months = AED 24,000. In all cases, Remit Protect will pay a minimum of AED 5,000, irrespective of the amount remitted, and a maximum of AED 25,000. 10% of the eligible amount will be paid in the 1st month and remainder will be paid for 12 months in monthly installments. i.e. If the eligible amount is for AED 24,000, 1st settlement will be for AED 2,400 (10%) and the remaining amount of AED 21,600 will be paid in 12 monthly installments (i.e. AED 1,800 each month).
- Do I need a letter of cover for the policy to be effective?
No, you do not. To be eligible for the cover, you need to be an eligible FGB LIC (I) Visa Rewards Credit Cardholder and you should remit money via an authorized remittance channel in the UAE.
- Are there exclusions under this program? Where can I find the details?

- Who will receive the money?
The benefit will be paid out to the legal beneficiary of the FGB LIC (I) Rewards Credit Cardholder. Kindly refer to the terms and conditions for the order of the beneficiary list.
- Will I be covered if the incident happens outside of the UAE?
This cover applies worldwide with the exception Iraq and Afghanistan. You should, however, have a valid residency in the UAE at the time of incident and should meet the remittance pre-requisite.
- Are any countries excluded from the program?
If the beneficiary is a resident of a country under US Sanctions, AIG will not be able to make payment to that country. Cover will not be valid if the beneficiary is in Afghanistan, Iraq, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Liberia, Sudan, or Syria. Please contact AIG for latest list.
- What documents are required as proof of remittance?
The receipt issued by the establishment who process the remittance will serve as “proof of remittance”.
- How do I report a claim?
Claim can be intimated by calling AIG or by sending an email to the contact address mentioned in the claim form.

Chip & Pin Security
FGB LIC (I) Credit Card is equipped with a Chip & PIN feature giving you enhanced security level for every purchase you make with a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
The PIN will authorize the transaction at merchants Chip terminal and your signature will not be required. If the merchant does not have a chip terminal, you may still use your FGB LIC (I) Credit Card by signing the receipt.
To easily activate and generate your transaction PIN, SMS CACT space < the last 4 digits of your card number > space < 4 digit PIN number of your choice > from your registered mobile number and send it to 2121.

- Is this technology as secure as traditional cards?

- Could I unknowingly have made a purchase if I walk past the reader?
Your card has to be waved within a close range (less than 4 centimeters) of the payment reader or terminal for more than half a second and the retailer must have first entered the amount for you to approve. Terminals can only process one payment transaction at a time, therefore reducing transaction errors.
- Is there any chance that payments may be taken twice from my account?
Visa payWave terminals are designed to only make one transaction per card at a time. All Visa payWave terminals are tested and certifed to confrm that a card is only read once before the transaction is concluded. As a safeguard, each transaction must be complete or void before another one can take place.
- Which retailers will accept my card?
Your card will be accepted for Visa payWave transactions wherever you see the contactless symbol and Visa logo at the point of sale. Visa payWave is available at most of the popular locations visited every day such as grocery stores, fast food outlets, coffee shops, convenience stores, and transport providers. You can still swipe your card and enter your PIN to make a regular transaction at other locations where Visa payWare is not accepted.

During unforeseen events like loss of life, permanent total disability and involuntary loss of employment, your Credit Shield covers you for liabilities on your Credit Card up to AED 100,000. You are automatically enrolled in this scheme. In the event of death or permanent total disability, AED 100,000 or your credit limit whichever is lower, and for involuntary loss of employment, 10% of your Credit Card outstanding, subject to a maximum of AED 4,000 for every month of unemployment up to a maximum period of 12 months. First month of enrollment is free of charge.
A lost or stolen wallet is more than just inconvenience and monetary loss. It takes away your peace of mind and puts you completely off track. Accident Care Plan
As a FGB Credit Cardholder, you are automatically enrolled in the personal accident insurance scheme worth AED 150,000 to cater to unforeseen eventualities like Death or Permanent Total Disability arising from an accident. In case of Permanent Total Disability, the benefit amount will be paid after six consecutive months of total disability recognised by a physician authorised by the insurance provider. First month of enrollment is free of charge.
